TruQC, a St. Louis-based company that is building applications for the iPad to improve industrial painting job-site documentation, was recently announced as one of 27 finalists for the first ever Tabby Awards /Business. There were nearly 100 submissions.
“Getting selected as a finalist for this award is a true honor,” said Ross Boyd, CEO at TruQC. “But perhaps what excites me the most, is the competition and the other entrants. It’s amazing to see how far the tablet has come, and to get even more proof and validation that they’re not ‘toys’ but hardworking tools that can revolutionize the way business is done.”
The Tabby Awards recognize the best tablet apps for iPad and others. The competition was open to both native apps and web apps from developers worldwide.
An international judging panel of 12 accomplished tablet professionals is now reviewing finalists and selecting the best app in each of 14 categories. The panel is chaired by Mr. Alan Maserek, ex-CEO and co-founder of the best-selling iPad app QuickOffice. Categories for the Tabby Awards include the following:
- Intelligence, information and reference
- IT or business tool
- Healthcare and pharmaceutical
- Education and professional training
- Government, institution and public service
- In the field
- Consumer products and services
- Business products and services
The winners will be announced during TabTimes TabletBiz Conference and Expo to be held November 27 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City. TruQC will be sending Megan Strick, Director of Client Services, to represent the company.
